A Decade of Turning Possibility into Power

Sustainable Capital Finance was founded to redefine how commercial and non-profit organizations access renewable energy. What began as a small team with deep roots in structured finance and solar diligence has grown into a nationwide platform trusted by developers and institutions alike.

2012 — SCF is founded to finance renewable energy projects
Sustainable Capital Finance is established to expand access to long-term renewable energy financing for C&I and non-profits.
2013 — Operations begin and early project activity takes shape
SCF launches operations focused on PPA financing for commercial and mission-driven organizations.
2014 — SCF Suite launches with dedicated project fund
Public release of the SCF Suite alongside a $50M committed capital fund for projects submitted through the platform.
2018 — Multi-megawatt commercial PPAs highlighted
SCF completed multi-MW projects, including a 2.27 MW church portfolio and district-wide school deployments.
2019 — Multi-year collaboration announced with NextEra
Formalized plan to acquire and operate ~200 MW of solar assets, pairing SCF’s software-driven workflow with NextEra’s build/operate expertise.
2020 — SCF Suite 2.0 officially launches
A major update to the pricing and transaction platform rolls out, accelerating diligence and standardizing workflows.
2022 — SCF Suite adds API access for external pricing tools
The underwriting engine becomes integration-ready so developers can generate indicative PPA pricing inside their own modeling environments.
2024 — Solar + storage + EV charging PPAs featured as a core offering
